What happens when our issue is assigned to an inactive product team member?

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

The assignee is inactive, but his team members are taking care of his tickets, even if the feature you mentioned was not updated yet. 

I escalated your request internally asking if someone could assign, but no worries, the dev team and product managers are aware of the feature.
