Details ,

We use Ad in jira

There is group "jira company users" it is a ad group , i added those group to jira-software-users(licensed jira group) which is added as default group in application access page of jira software.

Now i want to know whether the user present in only "jira company users"group can login to jira with his credentials.

Note : our jira is set up such that only users added to  jira-software-users(licensed jira group)  will have browse access to application.

Hi Rahul,

Application Access is assigned to groups. An user must be in at least one group you assign Application Access to.

If you assign Application User to the group "jira company users" the users are able to login and will consume a license.

In case you assign Application Access to jira-software-users AND the Active Directory group "jira company users" it doesn't matter. Access is provided to an use as long as he/she is present in ONE group - it also just accounts once towards the license.

In case you ensure that your users are in jira-software-users (using whatever way you prefer) it is also just fine.

Cheers,
Daniel
