What is 'Impact' in the idea workflow in Jira Product Discovery?

Hi, in the idea workflow in JPD there is a stage 'Impact' after the 'Discovery' stage. Can you please explain what is that stage about and how it is used? Thanks.

Hi @Ingrid Cooper,

impact would be the stage where you try to make an assessment of ideas against one another to see what you will be working on now / later / very much later / ...

You may use it to indicate that you have completed discovery and have enough information to further prepare an idea for delivery.

Note that this is just a template workflow. If it doesn't make any sense for your team or you want to use different steps, you can modify the workflow to match your way of working.

If you decide to modify your workflow, there are two ways to access that:

1. Select 'three dots' on the Status column.
2. Select Edit field
3. Select Edit Workflow
4. Add or delete statuses
5. Select Update workflow

OR

1. Select Project Settings
2. Select Workflow
3. Then use steps 4 and 5 from the upper list
