What is difference between domain.atlassian.com and jira.atlassian.com

Hi ,

I am writing restful API following this doc

https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/jira/platform/rest/v3/

 

that is for cloud instance.

But soon after i discovered jira instance on jira.atlassian.com.

My question is what is difference between these two and is there different api for accessing these url or same api would work for these.

jira.atlassian.com is Atlassian’s public issue tracker which tracks bugs, suggestions and others.

will API differ in case of jira.domain.com and domain.atlassian.com

I am confused in this scenerio.
