What is the 'Related Field' Action for when Editing Options for Custom Field

I have created custom fields for my jira projects and found an action 'Related' Field' within Edit Options for a Custom Field - what is this fields intended use?

That's not something standarard Jira fields do, so I suspect it's coming from an add-on.  The type of custom field should tell us which one.
