What is the Releases Field on the Issue Detail Screen?

We just migrated from the server to the cloud and I am being asked what is the Releases field and why can we not enter data in it.

I thought maybe it was when a version was released it would appear there but that is not the case.

We do not have a custom field called Releases.

What is this field and how is it used?

Releases represent points in time for your project, similar to fix versions. You can learn more about it here. If you are using LaunchDarkly it will use that field to add feature flags that you have either defined already or you can create new ones.
