We have tried to install Jira+Confluence+Grasshopper on Centos 5.5 32 bit, 2 months ago without success, because of some errors. (https://support.atlassian.com/login.jsp?permissionViolation=true&os_destination=%2Fbrowse%2FCSP-72364)
Now, I will try again from startup.
What is the best fit you have already tested?
Centos version?
Jira, Confluence, Grasshopper version?
Regards,
JIRA should install fine on Centos 5.5. I haven't heard of any issues with that. The link you gave isn't helpful as it is to your own private support ticket so we can't view it
If you can give some specific information about the error you had 2 months ago we could help more
Also, the greenhopper version is tied to JIRA and has nothing to do with the OS you use
I can only echo what Colin has said - we can't see your support issue, and the only potential problems I can see with your versions is if you were not trying to install the wrong Greenhopper in Jira, OR you've tried to install 64 bit versions (as your Centos is 32 bit.) Confluence and Jira work fine on Centos 5.whatever, and without your error messages, we can't really tell you more.
I would however, recommend looking at 64 bit Centos, simply because it's better.

My probnlem was with Confluence and is an exception. However this is not important, I will restart with the xact version youı propose:
Centos version?
Jira, Confluence, Grasshopper version?
Java version?
"In confouence when I am trtying to add link to Jira, I enter the Jira URL and press Next. Nothing happens.
In catalina.out of confluence:
Nov 23, 2011 4:22:32 PM com.sun.jersey.server.impl.application.WebApplicationImpl onException
SEVERE: Internal server error
java.lang.NullPointerException"

What we're trying to tell you is that it doesn't matter. Use whatever versions you want, all you need to do is make sure the Greenhopper (not Grasshopper) version is compatible with the version of Jira you choose. If you don't have a need for specific features, then just use the latest versions. They'll work on Centos as long as that isn't really old.
As for your error, you'd need to give us a lot more detail. But I'd forget it for now and get your new systems working first.
