We have been setting up Jira for our delivery squads and slowly onboarding them using company-managed projects. We are new to Jira and have taken some time getting familiar with the admin side of things.
We have a different department in the business who also need to start using Jira, but they have very different requirements in their use of Jira, such as workflows, statuses etc and will also be wanting to share some boards externally.
Would we be best to set up a new site for this department so that they can do what they need to without impacting our setup?

You can set up a new project for this department in the same Jira instance. With the scheme you will be able to have different workflow, issuetype etc..
Thank you. We could definitely set up separate workflows and schemes, that might do the trick. We were concerned with some of the complexity they might have.
