What is the best way to provide Stakeholders with project updates?

Is there a way to share regular updates with project stakeholders without sending all of the details of the project? Some sort of template that would share the project timeline and show the progress and the ability to add a few comments and then send out to all of the key stakeholders?

Have a look at Atlas. It's an awesome new tool that covers exactly the communication layer towards stakeholders without all the overhead. Twitter-style.
