What is the recommended RAM for JIRA 6.1 having around 2.5 lakh issues and growing?

We're planning on an upgrade from 5.0 to 6.1 and are skeptical about our available RAM. What would be a recommended amount of RAM that should be made available to the application?

To add to that - the answer really is not as simple as "Memory pernumber of issues". You need to look at users, data complexity, usage profiles and the rest. Rambanam has given you the right links, I just wanted to point out that it's nowhere near as simple as your question suggests
