I am very confused in tools... Can anyone let me know the key roles of each in comparison... And in which areas jira & Qc can be used....
Which is important to learn being a fresher in the industry...????
They do two different jobs. Jira is for tracking issues, QC for test cases. QC has more facilities aimed at testing (automating, tracking results, amalgamating reporting on how testing is going), and Jira is more generalised towards task management.
It is relatively easy to treat a test case as a type of issue Jira can track, although you'll need to do a bit of work to get some of the reporting and tracking that QC does off-the-shelf. See https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRAKB/Using+JIRA+for+Test+Case+Management
However, although you can replace QC with Jira, it doesn't work the other way around - if you've got QC, it may well work brilliantly for your testing, but it's useless as an issue tracker for developers, managers etc, so you'll still need a decent issue tracker outside it.
