What permissions do I need to manage everything in a Project

Bryan_Schmiedeler July 9, 2019

Somewhat new to JIRA. Working on a project which I am attempting to manage.

In project settings I see that I am given an administrator role and developer role ( see this in Project Settings under People).

However, in Project Settings ==> Permissions there are just tons of items, and I don't think I have the ability to change everything within this project. For example, I want to change a board to a simplified workflow, but that option is greyed out.

How can I ask the JIRA administrator to give me permission to totally administrate a project?

Hi @Bryan_Schmiedeler

To be able to change workflows, you can only edit workflows that are not shared with other project but you cannot associate a new workflow without being a jira administrator yourself.

Read more about permissions here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver081/managing-project-permissions-970608878.html

note the requirements under Extended project administration.
