Hi Warda, welcome to the Atlassian Community.

Jira will start a wizard and ask you what to do with the existing isues of that type. You will have to pick another issue type for them.

If the new issue type has another workflow you will also have to map the current statuses to the statuses in the new workflow.

And if the new issue type has different fields the issues will now also have them.

Hi Warda - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

When you save the new scheme, it should force a migration of all issues using that Issue Type to another Issue Type that is available for that scheme.
