Where are the software development templates?

I am new to JIRA and following a tutorial. In the tutorial we are going to create a new project under Software development. However my screen does not have those. The templates start with Service Management.

What happened with Software development? are those templates still usable?

Are there other equivalents templates with stories, epics etc?

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Software development project templates are available only if you are accessing the Jira product vs the Jira Service Management product.

If you have only the JSM product then you will have only the JSM project templates.
