Where can I find the email format syntax of comments in Jira ticket, fetched through REST API

So I was recently working with Jira Apis to fetch a ticket.

In the ticket if there is an email mentioned it formats it to the following ways->

[+xyz@gmail.com+|mailto:xyz@gmail.com]

I have also seen this format

[_xyz@gmail.com_|mailto:xyz@gmail.com]

So anyone elaborate the significance of these _ and + characters, and are there any more out there, if so where could I find them, specifically for mail in comments formatting.

You can lookup the various ways how text is formatted in Jira in this document.

The _ and + only seem to be formatting characters for making the text emphasis or inserted (as they call it).
