I have inherited a Jira 4.2.2 system to manage and have never administered Jira before. I want to upgrade to the latest 5.x but have fallen at the first hurdle. Our existing installation uses a Postgres database. I want to setup a test offline system before I do the real migration so want to configure my test installation to use a different database (snapshot of the original). I cannot find any config file in the existing Jira installation that tells Jira which postgres database server/database to connect to, though the catalina.out logfile clearly shows the correct database server and database has been picked up from somewhere. Please help me find that 'somewhere'.
