Where is the jira.service file located?

We have Jira working as a service in our Linux environment.  I need to fix the Thread Limit warning and I see that systemd overrides any settings in the limits.conf file.  I tried to search for the appropriate service file but I'm coming up empty.  We are running 7.13 here and I would like to know where the file is located.

Hello Mark,

Running Jira as a service can be great to ensure Jira is always available after reboots or maintenance. However, when going back in to edit the process, it can be difficult tracking down how it’s running as a service and which paths have been set. The best way to figure out where and how it’s running as a service is to trace through the steps within the documentation, this will lead you to the process that was most likely used to set up Jira as a service.

We would first suggest reviewing Starting JIRA Automatically on Linux which will help to understand where the application paths and service scripts exist.

If you're on Red Hat or CentOS, @Daniel Eads wrote up a great response to a similar thread for getting Jira running as a service. You may find that post at Run jira as a service in linux.

These two should help to guide you where you service scripts exist along with where they’re located. I hope this proves helpful and you’re able to adjust your Jira service.

Regards,
