Where to increase jira heap size?

Hi Team,

where to increase jira heap size? what is the size of default heap? it is possible to change the heap size .... i searched in setenv.sh file i din't get heap size.

The heap size is the Xmx setting in the setenv file.

Please, don't mess with it unless you're sure you know what you're doing.  Throwing memory at a Java problem may not be the right answer and can make things worse.  (That said, I wouldn't expect problems from giving any Jira 2Gb heap size, as long as the OS still has plenty of memory for itself)

I agree with Nic's advice to be cautious of simply throwing more memory at an application. We did, however, have success in upping our minimum from 256 to 768 and our maximum from 768 to 1152.
