While creating a new issue, how can I specify the EPIC?

In Board view, when I add a new issue, there is no field to specify the Epic. I want to be able choose the epic right from the get go, but that is not an available field and I can't figure out how to make it one.

This results in me adding the issue, then having to search for it, open it, and then manually designate the EPIC that I want the issue to be associated with. 

Or I have to leave the Board view and go to the Roadmap, and create the issue underneath an EPIC.

@Eric Engelman what type of project are you in?

Team (next-gen) or company managed (classic) project? Either way hopefully these solutions help!

If it's a team project - once you have created the item, you can simply add the epic when the task opens.

If it's company managed, and you can't see it you should be able to do so from the "Configured fields" selection.
