After creating a custom field, I wanted to add the new field to all the screens that are available in our Jira instance. So I was searching for 'Select All' option in "Associate custom field to screens" screen but I couldn't find it out.

Could you please explain me the reason why that option was not provided in Jira. I can sense the misuse of 'Select All' option if some rookie admin selects it unknowingly, but it's still a very useful option for a real Jira administrator.

Thanks !

Hi Ramarao,

Really useful would be governed by the circumstance I'm sure - if larger organisations are mandating the use of fields for example - it might be more efficient to have only a couple of screens / screen schemes rather than adding one custom field to hundreds of screens.

Likewise, other companies might have a larger number of screens to cater for each of their teams / tribes because they allow them more flexibility in how they work - but in that instance, would every screen need one new custom field - including resolution screens, workflow transition screens, etc?

There are going to be lots of niche cases where Atlassian can't cater for everyone - in that instance, there will be workarounds.

For example you could use the "Multicheck Checkbox Checker" - which is a Chrome extension - to drag+select multiple checkboxes at once? :)
