Why a custom issuetype is showing up on scrum board

Walt Harper

We have Stories selected for swimlanes, with subtasks showing in the lanes. The problem we have is that a custom issue type "Problem/Idea" which is not a part of or even included in the Sprint, but is showing as a lane with subtasks, when it shouldn't because it's not a story. Why is this happening and how do I get rid of them (without some absurd expensive add-on?

When swimlanes are set to Stories it is expected to show any standard issue types (all types except for Epic and subtasks), and not merely stories, as the option's name suggests.

However, you may get rid of undesired issue types by editing the board's filter to specifically include the issue types you need your board to include, like ie:

type in (Epic, Story, Sub-task)
