Why am I getting "your connection to this site is not secure" when entering my Atlassian url?

Hi, 

I now have the alert displayed along with my root Atlassian site url, saying "Your connection to this site is not secure".

The site never loads.

Jira status page reports some minor performance issue but it is really a major 'system down' event for us. 

Removal of the data from the browser does not help.

Any clue?

An update 1: same country, different IPs behave differently.

An update 2: update & restart the browser resolved the issue.

Yes, it is cloud and their incident report does not mention inability to log in and the 'insecure' note by the site main url.
