Why are cards with done status being moved to the next sprint after previous sprint is completed

Cards that are marked as “done” are being moved to the sprint after the previous sprint is completed. The workflow for our cards is as follows 

 

to do > in progress > PR review > QA review > done

 

so they seemingly should not be moved to the next sprint based on what I’ve read.

Hi Kevin - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

The issues must be in the last column on the Scrum board (far right) regardless of what Status they are in.

The done status is the last column.

What issue type are these cards? Is it all of them? Or just some?

So all cards in the last column of the scrum board are being moved to the next sprint when you close the sprint? 

It that's the case, you need to open a support ticket with Atlassian for their help. Please post the resolution back here so we can close this one out.

@Kevin Blake Echoing what Dick said - from your screenshot, the Done status was NOT in the last column. That will fix your problem.

Hi Kevin,

Please share a screenshot of the board configuration page, tab columns.
It will give us the opportunity to see whether you're having a scrum or kanban board, and also if your status flow matches Jira's

Any updates on this? im following this because it is also happening in the team i am currently managing.

tickets with DONE status are being carried over to the new/next sprint. please provide answers on this as this is a lingering concern for us for quite some time now.

Hi @Kevin Blake 
From the top picture you posted, "done" isn't the last column in your board, like you told @John Funk . 

I understand the pressure you're feeling as you're currently encounter this problem with your team. To take things into your own hands, I would re-suggest John's approach:

  • Have you tried his solution, putting the "done" column in the far right?
  • If this didn't help you: Have you filed a ticket at Atlassian for this?
