Why are components managed via global permissions?

Because global permissions are not granted to all users, this created an admin overhead within our Company, as only global administrators can add sub-sections to projects.

Is there a workaround or future update to resolve this?

Could you explain this a bit further?  You've used words that are used in JIRA to mean different things, and I think it needs expanding before I can understand what you're getting at.

Specifically

  1.  Components are parts of projects and are maintained by project administrators, not system administrators.
  2. What does "sub-sections" mean?  It's not something I recognise in JIRA

Hi Daniel,

Components can be managed by JIRA Administrators (global permission) but also by users with Administer Projects permission (typically granted to the project role 'Administrators' in the permission scheme set on your project(s)).

Hope it helps.
