Why can't I create custom reports on JIRA or make a second board

Hi!

I have full admin access, however:

- when I go to "reports" I only see Burnup report and Velocity report - no way to create my own?

- when I go to "search" -> "boards" -> and try to add a new board from an existing software project, the dropdown is blank? I just want to create a Grooming board so that I can see the tickets in backlog which haven't been worked on, and which have their stories finished and are ready for grooming, then sizing, and ready for dev...

Please help!

You can create your own reports by writing code and adding apps to Jira.

My guess on the boards is that you do not have the "create shared object" global permission.  (Note that admin permission means you have admin rights, not "can do anything" as that's a terrible security model)

I created a next gen board, that's why I can't create a 2nd board it seems...

Could you elaborate on the writing code and adding apps to Jira please? where do I do that?

I'm the one who is trying to set up the entire Jira account for the organization, so I didn't take away any access rights from myself yet
