I have created a Software Project that pulls from a Service Desk. I have created multiple swimlanes to show individual work loads (assignees) and regional work loads (dropdown selections). However, I can only see 5 swimlanes when I open up the Kanban board despite having 10 swimlanes configured in board settings.
Is there a way to increase the default for # of visible swimlanes?
Also, I have a custom JQL that is not showing the same results in the Kanban as it does in filters. How do I identify the root cause for this discrepancy?
Thanks.
Hello @Kurt De La Rosa
You can display 10+ swimlanes on your board, as demonstrated in this image.
If there is a swimlane not displaying then there are either
1. No issues that match the criteria for that swimlane, or
2. The issue(s) matched the criteria of a swimlane that appears higher up on the board.
And issue will be displayed in the first swimlane (from top to bottom of board) that it matches.
Concerning the discrepancy between filter results in a board and the same filter's results in Advanced Issue Search, are you talking about a Quick Filter or a filter in a Swimlane? If so, note that those filters are added to the underlying filter of your board. So, when checking the results of your Quick Filter or Swimlane Filter in the Advanced Issue Search screen you must built it up to include the filter that is the basis for your board.
If you show tell us more about that filter with discrepant results and provide details about something that is in the results that should not be, or is missing but should be included, we can offer more specific advice.
Thank you @Trudy Claspill. I think the answer to my second question is answered with the first question. "The issue(s) matched the criteria of a swimlane that appears higher up on the board. And issues will be displayed in the first swimlane (from top to bottom of board) that it matches."
The swimlanes I have created do have overlapping JQLs and share issues, which is why the results aren't matching 1:1.
Is there a way to change this setting so that all swimlane results are independent of each other?
