Why can't I sum story points by status on any of the gadgets or dashboards?

This is such a simple thing to do... yet none of the gadgets give me this data. At best, I get a count of the number of issues, but not all issues are equal, hence the reason for story sizing. PLEASE tell me that I'm not the only person looking for this ability?
