Why can't Jira Gadget show blocked by or implemented by issues?

When I add the filter results gadget to the Jira Dashboard I am able to see the "implemented by" field.

Our Initiatives are "implemented by" Epics/stories/tasks.

The column heading shows but none of the linked "implemented by" issues are displayed. 

If I use "linked issues" they show up fine.

Also, why is "blocked by" not an option to show in the gadget?

Most likely the implemented by field is not the actual linked issues but some other custom field. 

To accomplish what you need, you will require a 3rd party reporting plugin that displays linked issues hierarchies.

Thanks. "Blocked by" should be a standard Jira option. I've seen it at various companies. Any idea as to why it's not showing as an option in the Gadget?
