Why can't i delete post function?

when I create a Story the Resolution field is required.  I believe it has something to do with the transition for Create.

I want to delete the post functions, but doesn't allow me to.  I am the admin.

Ok, the post-function is a bit of a red-herring for the stated problem in the question.  There are two things that might be happening:

1. A validator (not post-function) is requiring the field
2. You have set the field required in the field configuration

For the title of the question and deleting post functions, can you explain what "doesn't allow me to" means?  What is the actual behaviour, and which post-function?
