Hi Team,
I have been facing this issue randomly for quite some time now. My columns suddenly disappear from the board unknowingly. I have to restore them again by editing workflow and adding them back from the dropdown list and updating the workflow as it was earlier.
The only problem here is that tickets from this disappeared column move to other columns and need to be moved back one by one after verifying if they belonged to this column earlier.
This causes a lot of time to be wasted in the restoration process.
Does anyone else face such an issue and is there a way to bring back the tickets to the column which was restored ?
There is no way to automate doing this, and there's nothing in Jira that can do it.
The only way this can happen is if another admin is changing your workflows and/or board settings.
You need to identify them and work together to configure the system to work for both of you (or get them to stop making a mess, by taking away their admin rights for the board or Jira)
Check the audit logs if it is a company-managed workflow they are editing.
Hi, @Tushar Shinde
Workflows can't be changed without manual actions. On your place, I'd check "Audit Log" in System, to see, who is messing up with working processes.
Also, keep in mind, that if you change name of Status in workflow, it will affect all workflows, where ths status is used. It can be a reason too.

Hi Evgeniy,
Thanks for your quick response.
Audit Log was the first place i thought of checking but being a free user, I was greeted with 'You're on the Free plan, so you can't view and track changes made across your site in the audit logs. To access the audit logs, upgrade your plan.' screen.
Where else can i find out if anyone has played around with working processes ?
Thanks in Advance.

Without the audit log, you can not. You will have to go ask all the other administrators which one of them is messing with your settings.

Hi, @Tushar Shinde
There is one more place to look, who changed workflow - in workflow editor. But if it was edited by you, after changes, name of previous editor will be overwritten
