Why do some of our team members have access to the back log and others don't?

I have been over all the forums and I am sure it's because of the way we set it up. Please help!

Hello @Kat Allard 

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

What type of project are you using? Get that information from the Type column on the View All Projects page under the Projects menu.

What happens when the users that don't have access try to access the same URL as other use to see the Backlog? Do they get an error message? If so, what is the message?
