Why do the search results from parentEpic include the actual epic?

When I query on parentEpic=ABC-123, the results include all of the tickets in the epic AND the actual Epic ticket. It throws off all of my metrics for percentage of tickets complete. Does anyone know why this happens and if there's anything I can do to fix it globally so I don't have to go into every saved filter and add AND issuekey!=ABC-123?

Hi @Kathy Barton 

Not that I know of - you do need to exclude the Epic (eg. using AND issuetype != Epic)

This function has included the Epic for some time I believe - but it could be a Bug?. You can create Bugs for Atlassian to review here - https://jira.atlassian.com/secure/Dashboard.jspa
