Why does a task get taken off of my sprint when I advance it from one status to the next?

When moving a task to the next status in the workflow the task gets removed from the sprint and the backlog. To find the task I must go into the Timeline and put the task back into the status it was in or back into the "to do" status. Is there something I need to fix in my workflow or is this a bug I need to report?

If @Mikael Sandberg 's excellent suggestion does not solve your problem, please provide the following information:

To what status are you moving the issue? And what is the color code of the status; gray, blue, or green?

Are you working with a Team Managed project or a Company Managed project? You can get that information from the Type column on the View All Projects page under the Projects menu.

Can you provide a screen image of your board pointing out the issue when it is visible and another image of the board when the issue is not visible? Obscure confidential information.

Go to you board configuration and make sure that the status you are moving the issue to when it disappear is linked to a column on the board. If the status is not linked that would explain it.
