Why does re-indexing updating Parent Link custom field value with current value
I have noticed that Parent Link value is getting updated whenever we re-index the epic.
Can anyone please tell why this is happening and how to prevent it?

The problem is, We are re-indexing an epic on a frequent basis through escalation service. So, Whenever the re-indexing happen, Parent link field getting updated from current value -> current value.
This seems to be weird. And, As it is getting logged in history, the email notification is getting triggered for watchers, reporter and assignee every time re-index happen. This is a false alarm right? SO, we want to prevent it.. Please help.
