Why does the bulk update of issue not allow comments?

I am doing a bulk update of issues and selecting to transition the issues. All fields that come up when doing this manually show when doing this via the bulk option, with the exception of the comments field.  How can I get this field to show?

Or should I be doing this another way?  End result that I am looking for is to be able to bulk add comments.

If you only want to add a comment and not change the status of the issue use bulk tool but select edit rather than transition. You will then have the option to change any field and add a comment.

Thanks, You pushed me in the right direction.  I found that it was the render type of the field that was not making it show. Fixed that and it now shows.
