The new issue view does not allow you to edit the remaining time on an issue. This is frustrating, particularly during times such as scrum planning when you need to edit time values. The old view allowed you to edit it. During planning I have to revert to the old view to edit the remaining times and then when planning has finished revert back to the new view. The remaining time can be edited if you use Tempo, but this is not ideal because you have to first log time against the item to edit the remaining.
Does anyone know why it was removed or if there are any plans to provide a solution to this in the new view? My preference would be to remain on the new rather than having to switch between the two views.
Hi @Simon Peake ,
In the new JIRA issue view, the native JIRA log time field and the remaining estimate field have been merged into one field (Time tracking).
When Tempo (or another plugin) is set as Time Tracking provider, the native JIRA Time tracking field is no longer displayed, so the remaining estimate can not be edited.
We do have an improvement request for this in our Tempo Ideas portal, https://ideas.tempo.io/ideas/T-I-150 that you can vote and comment on. Tempo product management has marked this idea as "likely to implement, but additional votes might increase the priority to make this functionality available when Tempo is set as Time Tracking provider.
Currently, the only workaround for this problem is to revert to the old issue view and change the remaining estimate in the "Edit" view of the issue.

Susanne Götz
