Why don't Issue Type descriptions appear when selecting an issue type?

Why don't Issue Type descriptions appear when selecting an issue type? The only thing there is a learn more link with a LOOOOOONG list of issues, and they have to find it there? What's the point of these descriptions if they're not readily available for teams to make the right decision in issue type?

Hi and welcome!

I know this might not be the answer you're hoping for but there is a way to get those descriptions from the Create issue screen:

The link will give an overview of all issuetypes, not filtered by selected project, but the information is there.

That is exactly the Learn More link that the original poster mentioned in their post as providing a very long list of all issue types (and other information) in the system, which then has to be searched for the specific issue type entry.

Ow... Now I see, read over that part I think. You are right, that's indeed not a useful answer...
