Why is dashboards not integrated in seach bar?

Jira Dashboards are king of static, and each gadget may represent a different filter, so they are not linked to each other. This is why you cannot have them using a single filter from the search bar. If you want something more flexible, you need to look for a marketplace app. If you are open to that, I suggest Mindpro Insights. I work at Mindpro, and I believe the app can help you with this scenario.
It creates easy-to-use dashboards that work based on a main filter. This means that all gadgets added to a dashboard will respect the filter from the top of the screen (in basic or JQL versions). The gadgets are dynamic, which means that when you click on a chart segment, the entire dashboard will adjust to that, as a sub-filter.
You can choose from more than 50 gadgets to create a dashboard, which you can share internally or with customers via the customer portal.
