We added JIRA Cloud to a couple of channels in slack but then we were getting duplicate notifications so we changed the channels and added another more general one where we added the JIRA Cloud bot. We then removed JIRA from 2 of the channels so it appeared in just 1 channel.
Rather than solving the issue we still have JIRA messages appearing in the 2 original channels even though JIRA Cloud is not listed as a member of either of these 2 channels. So we have now gone from having 2 copies of the same notification to 3 copies.
Is this a bug or is there some other way to deal with this?
Hi Leon,
What integration add-on are you using? I guess it's just a bug. Have you tried uninstalling then reinstalling the add-on again?
If you're done with those steps but still experience the bug, I would suggest you give it a try with this: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1218732/slack-messages-for-jira-cloud?hosting=cloud&tab=overview
The add-on works perfectly to our team. Hope this helps!
Cheers,
Julie
We removed the app and revoked all permissions and then started again and now it is just in the channel we want. The bug seemed to be that removing it from a channel did not stop it still positing.

Hi Leon,
So now is the integration add-on working functionally to your team? Have you tried contacting the app for further support?

Hi Leon,
Under Settings > Systems > WebHooks, make sure to remove or disable the unwanted notifications to slack.
Also check if these post-functions are set on Automation add-ons like "Script Runner for JIRA" and "Automation for JIRA" sometimes you find settings set to send alerts on slack channels after a certain condition is met.
Cheers,
Jason
