Why is this scheduled issue duplicated?

Mary Kasinger February 28, 2023

Hello,

Please see the below screenshot to see my automation for a scheduled issue to run every Monday. I am unsure why this is running the task twice - if I remove the Action, the issue doesn't seem to run with only the Scheduled part set up.  I am showing the setup behind the action to give more insight. I hope that makes sense - thank you!

Hello @Mary Kasinger

Please show us the details of the Scheduled Trigger. Have you added a JQL to that trigger? If your Scheduled Trigger includes a JQL then the actions are run for each issue returned by that JQL.

What is your indication that it is running twice? Is the rule itself running twice or is the Action to create an issue being executed twice each time the rule runs?

Can you show us the details Audit Log for an execution of the rule where the results were not what you expected?

Hi @Mary Kasinger

Adding to Trudy's questions...

This question seems to overlap the other one you posted here: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/How-to-automatically-set-due-date-to-the-first-day-of-next-year/qaq-p/2267048

Kind regards,
Bill
