Why isn't my child issue showing on my roadmap timeline?

My epics show on the timeline, and my child issues are showing in the left hand column, but they're not showing in the timeline.

Do you issues have estimates defined?

If there are no Target Start and Target End dates set the issue isn't displayed on the time line. You can drag them on to the timeline then position and set dependencies.

Hi @Joslyn Davies ! Please check this thread, it seems that you may have the same concern which was addressed there: Timeline: no visualisation for Tasks

It could mean that you can’t see child issues on the timeline because you have Jira Standard subscription. You can consider upgrading to Jira Premium or checking a 3-rd party app.

I’m from the Planyway team, and in case you decide to give a chance to an app, Planyway shows all issue types on the timeline according to their scheduled dates. You can manually sort all issues on the timeline and change their positions to your preference. Issues can be grouped by user or project:
