Why there is no version scheme in Jira ?

Could you please explain me about the reason for not adding 'version scheme' feature in Jira. I believe 'version scheme' would help lot of customers to use within their Jira projects.

Versions are a functionally that are project dependent, configured by the project admin rather than the system admin(delegated powers).

This is important because each project can have a different way of handling versions and this depends on the team in question. If you add a scheme, you create an unnecessary blockage because any changes made by one team will jmpact all project using said scheme.

Should you still need the said functionality, I will suggest having a look at https://jira.atlassian.com and looking up this topic. If you cannot find one do raise a feature request.
