Why would my JQL query bring back different results as a Quick Filter

I copied and pasted my JQL query into my Quick filter and noticed that when I use the Quick Filter it does not bring back everything the normal search did

Quick filters are limited to the board you add them to. So your board is based on a filter and the quick filter basically adds a filter on top of that filter. Could that cause the difference?
