We have a requirement to auto-create 15 Sub-Tasks on a workflow transition - but our several attempts so far are getting timeout errors - "The call to the JIRA server did not complete within the timeout period"
We initially used Script Post Function - but that had limited success - timed out most times and failed to created sub-tasks - and sometimes cauased the JIRA service to crash.
We then used the "Create On Transition" Add-On - this had much more success, but still timeouts occasionally, but even with a timeout it successfully creates the sub-tasks
BackGround - All Subtasks are exactly the same, to customisations apart subject line same as parent and different assignees for each ticket.
We are using JIRA 6.27 on 32 bit server - so can only allocate 1.5gig of JVM - this is our Test server, our Prod server has 4gig of JVM allocated - so in theory this issue may not exist when we migrate to Prod, but we are reluctant to move anything in prod that potentially can crash it.
So - seeking your advice
My first thought - is there a pause option or way to break up this workflow transition into chunks to allow better processing?
Or - Is there a better way to create these sub tasks?
Please try to increase the tomcat session timeout setting and restart the JIRA services and try.
