Workflow to automatically assign to people at stages

I have created quite a large workflow and I am trying to make it automatically assign specific people to Steps in the workflow. So for example say the person clicks on the "Transition" stage during the life cycle of the issue it then automatically goes and assigns the next step in the flow to a specific person.

Is that an option?

If there are no rules, like the assignee should be X when priority is Y, it is pretty staright forward. You can use the 'Update Issue Field' post function to set the assignee.

If there are rules, you will have to do some scripting or write a plugin.

Thanks Jobin, I looked everywhere except the 'Update Issue Field" post fuction. Looks perfect now.
