Workflow transition to downline

Hello, is there a way to set it up where someone can transition an issue to any status downline, but not up? 

Say an issue is in Status 1 but needs to go to Status 4 (someone forgot to transition to 2 & 3) they can. 

But they are not able to transition from Status 4 to Status 2 (unless Admin).

Yes you can do this. Edit the work flow and place a Validator on the desired transitions to only allow desired individuals to execute the transition. When completed those users not allowed will not see the transition in the drop down.

Do you mind showing an example of this? I am unsure of what that would look like.
