Would like to have Stories belong to Epics and use Kanban

Hello,

I have two problems that I cannot seem to find answers for on the boards. The first is that I need to associate a story with an Epic - not thorugh the Rapid board or the like - I just need to create stories within Epics. Any ideas?

The second problem I have is that we are using Kanban. I have seen a couple posts saying that Epics work only with Scrum, which doesn't make sense to me. There so far have been no confirmations or explanations for the restriction. Is that realy true? And do I have any options?

Nope not possible as you will need to go through the rapid board and associate the issue to the respective epic, refer here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/AGILE/Adding+an+Issue+to+an+Epic
