Write a JQL Query - When an Epic has no issues connected to it

I would ike some advice/guidance on writing a JQL search query for the following statements

 

Search and return all Epics which DO NOT have any issues connected to it

there isn’t a simple JQL for this but here are you options to consider:

  • If you use the epic name of the epic in the following JQL - “epic link” = epic-name. If you get no results then epic has no children. Yes not useful when hundreds of epics. 
  • create a scrum board covering all projects you are interested. Look at Backlog epic panel and inspect for Eli’s without issues. Toss the board when no longer needed
  • look to marketplace for app
