Hello everyone,
the project I am working on contains couple hundred tests, that have test type: Generic.
I would like to enable Project Test Type settings, so I can add a test, that is generic by default.
What will happen with existing tests, and test definition within them, when I enable Project Test Type Settings?
I am being given such warning:
"All Test issues will be updated with new Test types copied from global Test Type configuration"
I am concerned, that when I enable this feature, all of my test definitions within couple hundred test will dissapear.
My concern is based on the way changing of test type works, which is:
- If test type is changed, test definition is erased.
Thank you for your answers.
For anyone interested in answers in the future:
Process of enabling this feature does not change test types of existing issues.
Case, as follows:
1. Existing tests were Generic type
2. After enabling feature, and changing default test type to Generic, nothing "bad" happened.
FYI, regarding changing default test types to the type not present in existing issues,
Xray provides functionality of exporting issues via export (effectively making backup), and import them back with Test Case Importer.
