I am not a big "GTD-er" but there is a concept from it that I really like. It is that, no matter how big, amorphous, or complex a task is, one can always ask: "What is the next thing to do?" and "How long will that thing take?".
Is there a plugin that adds a field one can use for this information?
It would be really powerful to be able to look at a list of all the tasks I have and see the 10-15 word "NTTD" fields.
There's an existing post discussing about this implementing GTD: https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/7591/is-there-any-guideline-suggestion-add-on-plug-in-to-use-gtd-get-things-done-concept-on-jira
At the sam time, you might want to take a look on using JIRA Agile and tweak it to your preferred workboard together with some time specific filters for filtering time constrait tasks: http://blogs.atlassian.com/2011/05/greenhopper_getting_work_done/
Hi Ray
Perhaps you can try to have a look on JIRA Agile which is utilizing the scrum and kanban methodology. For more information and details, you may refer on the following documentation on how to start using JIRA Agile:
I hope it helps ;)

Hi Ray,
If you just need a custom text field, take a look at the custom field that are part of Jira, maybe that's all you need : https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Adding+a+Custom+Field
Best regards,
Peter
